April in Chicagoland traditionally brings so much to be excited about.  The crack of the bat is soon to be heard at Wrigley Field. Chicago’s sandy shores along Lake Michigan are about to open. Hundreds of thousands of fans are eagerly awaiting concert season. Lollapalooza, among dozens of other music and street festivals, await. The team at Shattuc is busy supporting all our customers who are involved in making those live events and sports happen.  We are finalizing last-minute details for Las Vegas’ NAB show – getting ready to join with our industry friends and partners for the event we look forward to all year long.

In an ever-evolving world of broadcast technologies and requirements, future-proofing is of paramount importance.  It has become clear that 4k (12Gb/s), in one way or another, is to be part of all our future.  Shattuc advocates for fiber AND coaxial solutions (it is not a one-size fits all environment).

Lamont is a longtime veteran of the Broadcast and Entertainment industry.  The majority of his experience has been in sales and account management.  He has sold a wide range of Broadcast products through the years (from glass to glass).  Glass on the monitors, to glass on the cameras, and everything in between.  The last fifteen years have been focused on fiber and copper connectivity solutions, everything from data centers and IP solutions to video and audio connectivity solutions.
He has earned numerous sales performance awards through the years.

Spring time in Chicago!  The snow has melted, the trees and flowers are blooming, and the city is reverberating with cracks of the bat as our north- and south-side rivals remind us that summer is around the corner.  Mother Nature had one last spring shower left in her on April 30th.  Fortunately, that didn’t stop the over 100 participants and 70 volunteers at this year’s 7th annual Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot.

Kurt Stein has been in the Electronic parts distribution and Broadcast Cable Sales industry since 1981. He began his career working for Pacific Radio in Hollywood, California, and spent many years throughout the 80’s and 90’s providing Broadcast supplies and cable to the Recording Studios, Television and Radio stations, and engineers in the heart of Hollywood.

7th Annual Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot, a charity event on behalf of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Shattuc is a big supporter of the Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot, an event that takes aim in helping fight pediatric brain tumors. Join us for a day of sporting clays, flurry, 5-stand and fun! A charity event on behalf of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the world's largest nonprofit funder of childhood brain tumor research. They serve the more than 28,000 children in the United States who are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor. Programs include free educational information about brain tumors, college scholarships, Ride for Kids motorcycle charity events, Starry Night walk/runs and more, including the Runzel Brothers Spring Shoot.

Shattuc is offering the ever popular Lake Cable AVB23HDTV at a special limited time price of $145 per 1000 feet. This miniature HD/SDI rated coaxial cable is available in black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gray, and white; as existing stock allows. It is constructed with a solid 23 AWG bare copper center conductor, foam polyethylene dielectric, foil and 97% tinned copper braid shield, with a CMR rated PVC jacket. It has a diameter of .160” +/- .005” and a weight of 20 Lbs per 1000 feet. The AVB23HDTV is comparable to the Gepco VDM230 and <Belden 1855A coaxial cables.
